Changes in the marketing landscape are forcing corporate leaders to rethink the core assumptions and practices of their current marketing models. The Johnson School Marketing Association is holding its annual symposium, this year themed "The Changing Marketing Landscape", on Thursday, November 4th and Friday, November 5th. The goal for these two days is to gather representatives from a diverse group of companies to expose Johnson students to new and innovative marketing techniques. This experience will bring together a variety of perspectives from market leaders across an extensive range of industries.
The Marketing Symposium has been widely successful in the past and this year's panel of speakers will provide an excellent opportunity to learn about the most pressing marketing challenges facing companies today. The symposium will also offer the chance to discuss current issues with speakers, professors, researchers and fellow students during the reception and moderated panel discussions. This is a great opportunity to network with senior executives from top companies. Kate Rubenstein '06 was impressed by last year's engaging topics and notable list of speakers. In addition, Liz Skibo '06 was pleased with Unilever's case study on Axe: "It was great to see how a big company could market a new product in a totally different way than their normal marketing."
The Marketing Symposium is open to the entire Cornell community. The Marketing Association has also invited students from other business schools, Cornell and Johnson School alumni, professionals and prospective students. We encourage the Johnson School community to come explore current marketing issues by attending this year's Marketing Symposium on November 4th and 5th.
