In a little under a month, I am headed out of town,
Carrying my picture wearing tassel, cap and gown.
So, when the chance for a last hurrah at CBJ arose,
I decided to write a poem in lieu of boring prose.
It has been an eventful twenty one months to date,
Coming to school seemingly tempted Lady Fate.
Before there was z-score, Porter and such WACC,
There were securities known as mortgage-backed.
Little did we realize the clock was ticking down,
The market was about to, not just sink but, drown.
We kept our wits about Palms, Dino's & Level B,
While reading about the mess on WSJ and CNBC.
Along came Phelps, the Olympics and a leap year,
Hurricane Ike, Raul Castro & then the Fall of Fear,
Bear, AIG, Lehman, Merrill & Wall Street blues.
When will the recession end, no one had any clues.
A new President, a new year and Spring in the air,
A little market rally as the new graduates prepare,
Oh, Here to the Class of Two Thousand and Nine,
In this last rambling, hopeful CBJ piece of mine.
Good luck with everything, may'll rise and shine.
